Cards and player
The game of Indian Rummy can be played between two and six players. Basic rules and cards are the same for all variants. A double deck of cards is used if more than two players are present. The variant only differs in round count, pool method, and elimination, but stays the same otherwise.
Here we go, let's toss
Matches begin with a toss, and the winner begins. Each player receives 13 cards, while the remaining cards are shuffled and kept in the closed deck. As soon as the first card is drawn from the closed deck, it is declared as the wild joker.
Rummy Card Sequence:
When you're learning how to play rummy, you must follow the rummy game sequence rules!
The wild joker
During the beginning of each game, the joker card is selected from the closed deck, and it can be used to create impure sequences.
The Printed Joker
The joker in this deck is the regular joker which comes with the deck and can be used to form impure sequences of cards.
Pure Sequence
The arrangement of three or more cards of the same suit in a sequential order. To form a pure sequence, a printed joker or wild joker cannot be added.
Example of Pure sequence:
10♣️ J♣️ Q♣️ K♣️ consists of four consecutive Club cards.
A♥️ 2♥️ 3♥️ is another pure sequence consisting of consecutive heart cards.
Impure Sequence:
When playing rummy, an impure sequence consists of three or more cards of the same suit, as well as one joker that is printed on the card, or wild on the card.
Example of Impure Sequence:
A♥️ 2♥️ 3♥️ PJ - Here, a printed Joker replaces three of Hearts, making it impure.
3♦️ 4♦️ K♠️ 6♦️ - Here, a wild Joker replaces five of Diamonds, making it impure.
A wild Joker was used to replace the 5 in this impure sequence in order to replace the wild Joker in the game. The wild Joker was the K♥️ in the game.
Some examples of valid sets:
5♥️ 5♠️ 5♣️ 5♦️ -A set of cards with the same value but different suits is included in the set.
5♦️ 5♣️ 5♠️ PJ - By replacing 5♥️ with Printed Joker, this set becomes valid.
9♠️ 9♣️ K♥️ - A wild Joker completes this set of 9s representing different suits.
Game note: Games with more than two players use two decks of cards, so the same suit and value cannot be found in the same deck.
The following are two examples of invalid sets:
3♥️ 3♥️ 3♦️ - As the set contains two 3s of the same suit, it is invalid.
9♠️ 9♥️ 9♦️ 9♠️ 3♥️ -
Due to two 9♠️, this set is invalid even with 3 of hearts as a wild joker.
How do I calculate points on Kingzones?
The following formula can be used to calculate rummy points:
Points Rummy:
Win Cash = (sum of opponents' points) X (point value in rupees) - (Kingzones fee)
Pool Rummy:
(Entry Fee) X (Number of Players) - (Kingzones Fee) = Winnings
Pool Rummy:
Winnings = sum of points of all opponents.
